Shri. Vitthal Padekar saw a vision 48 years ago of an enterprise deep inside the rural lands of Maharashtra that would be created from whatever was grown locally, manufactured locally and benefitting the local population of the area. His journey started in 1973 as a volunteer for a Post-Graduate Experigntial Learning Experiment by The Bombay University, which was later Internationally awarded by The Commonwealth. During this phase he began working in rural areas to organize Tribals to take benefit of Government Sponsored Schemes designed to benefit them. After completing the 2 years project he chose to keep working with the Tribals through various projects, until he realized that he lacked any one specific skill.
